A Grateful Farewell to New Mexico.
A Joyful Hello to North Carolina!

The Ayurvedic Institute has moved to Asheville, NC

For the last 40 years, New Mexico has been home to The Ayurvedic Institute. The local community has been integral to the growth and development of Ayurvedic studies and practices across the globe – welcoming students, supporting initiatives, and being friendly neighbors to the staff and families of the Institute. Living together, loving together, and sharing as one family this ancient science of healing called Ayurveda. New Mexico has been a wonderful home to grow this school

We are excited to realize Vasant Lad’s dream for a community centered around the principles and practices of Ayurveda. For the last few years, the team leading the Institute has been tasked with finding a location for this community. After scouting regions across the continental U.S., Vasant Lad chose Asheville, NC, as the home for our new campus.

The campus in Asheville will house the Institute itself – including the students, practitioners, teachers, and support staff that keep the wheels of the institute turning along with the library.

In the long-term, the Ayurvedic Institute will be aiming to grow into a number of spaces that will include a dedicated Ayurvedic clinic, a retreat center, and a farm for growing the herbs and botanicals that are so integral to Ayurvedic remedies.

We look forward to you joining us as we continue the great work of the Ayurvedic Institute!

A short message from the Ayurvedic Institute
Featuring:
Vasant Lad | Founder & Director | The Ayurvedic Institute
Mitesh Raichada | Executive Vice President | The Ayurvedic Institute
Sneha Raichada | Dean of Education | The Ayurvedic Institute

“I feel such profound gratitude for New Mexico. When I first came to the United States from India in 1979, it was the people of New Mexico who came to me and said, “Please stay and teach us Ayurveda” and the Ayurvedic Institute was born. I love the people of New Mexico and this beautiful land that has been so good to us. But life is change, and now with great excitement, we look to plant the seeds of this next evolution of the Ayurvedic Institute in the mountains of North Carolina!

“I hope you will come visit us next fall in our new home in North Carolina. Come study Ayurveda with us. Come for healing, for growing. We look forward to being together in this beautiful land as we grow this next incarnation of our work.”

~ Vasant Lad BAM&S, MASc, founder and director of the Ayurvedic Institute

Our New Home

The Ayurvedic Institute has officially settled on the campus of the Asheville Yoga Center (AYC) in downtown Asheville, NC.

This amazing space will be adapted to house the Ayurvedic Institute’s classrooms, library, administration offices, student clinic, and plans for an Ayurvedic eatery – while still continuing to offer the yoga classes and teacher trainings that serve the incredible community AYC has built over the 24-years they have been in operation.

The cross-pollination between the Ayurvedic Institute and AYC will mean that students, teachers, and practitioners will all have more opportunities to practice, learn, and develop their careers in the wellness space together.
